As autumn approaches, nothing says fall like a day spent at an apple orchard. Lucky for us, Chicagoland is surrounded by charming orchards perfect for a weekend adventure. Whether you're looking to pick your apples, enjoy some fresh cider, or take part in festive activities, here's a guide to some of our real estate agents' favorite apple orchards around Chicagoland.

Apple Holler

5006 S. Sylvania Ave., Sturtevant, WI 53177

Just over the border in Wisconsin, Apple Holler is a favorite among Chicagoans. This family-owned orchard offers over 30 varieties of apples throughout the season. Beyond apple picking, you can explore their beautiful grounds with a wagon ride, get lost in a corn maze, or take the kids to the farm animal area. Don't forget to stop by their on-site restaurant for a warm slice of apple pie or a freshly baked cider donut.

All Seasons Orchard

14510 IL Route 176, Woodstock, IL 60098

Open since 1993, All Seasons Orchard in Woodstock is another popular spot for apple picking in Chicagoland. The orchard offers over 15,000 apple trees with more than 12 varieties to choose from. Choose to pick your own apples or buy Barnyard tickets to get access to a petting zoo, duck races, a corn maze, and dozens more family-friendly activities.

Royal Oak Farm Orchard

15908 Hebron Rd, Harvard, IL 60033

Royal Oak Farm Orchard boasts the largest apple orchard in Northern Illinois, with over 160 acres of apple trees. What sets Royal Oak apart is its unique apple tree maze, where you can wander through winding paths while picking apples along the way. They also have a bakery, a gift shop, and a U-cut flower field, Blossom Ridge.

Kuipers Family Farm

1N318 Watson Rd, Maple Park, IL 60151

If you're looking for a classic apple orchard experience, Kuipers Family Farm is the place to go. With over 230 acres of land, Kuipers offers apple picking, a pumpkin farm, and even a sunflower field when in season. The farm market is stocked with everything you need from fresh apples to homemade pies, jams, and cider. Kuipers also hosts special events throughout the season, making each visit unique.

Heinz Orchard

1050 Crest Rd, Green Oaks, IL 60048

For a more laid-back experience, Heinz Orchard is a smaller, family-run operation that focuses solely on apple picking. Located just north of Chicago, Heinz Orchard is an affordable, no-frills destination where you can enjoy the simplicity of picking your own apples without the crowds. There's no admission or parking fees here — just good old apple picking. They've been growing popular apple varieties for over 70 years and offer a peaceful, rustic atmosphere.
